We have the house for Jan 13th PM through Jan 16th around noon. It's the old house at 4156 Faria Rd. First come, first served for the beds and sofas. If you're late, it will be sleeping bags on the floor. If the parking at the house is full, use the guest parking slots on the right as you enter the community.
Carol & I will be providing Saturday evening dinner, as usual.
For those of you that don't know, there is coded access at the auto entrance. Because of subsequent abuse of the code from last year, if I don't know you, you'll have to email me and ask for the code (rmichael@avenuecable.com). If I know you, you can call me.
As Steven suggested below, this might be a good time to talk about a/the new waveski association.

I'll be there! I'm thinking about Thursday night the 13th but definitely arriving by Friday morning for the surf I'll stay for the Saturday dinner and leave after a Sunday morning surf.
I'll bring random food items to munch on and an assortment of drinks. Maybe a little more food planning as the event gets closer and we know who all is going.
If you are a West coast waveskier or would like to be one you should plan on at least making the Saturday surf and then dinner.
Who all will be there and what are your plans?

I just came back from surfing clean, lined up Cardiff with Don Cole and we both remarked at how we were looking forward to mixing it up with the rogues, scalliwags, loose cannons, geriatrics and young guns at Faria once again. Wisdom dictates that I won't give away what category I fit into.
Anyhow, count me in! I'll be in charge of Breakfast Burritos and stinky ales. I am a little leery of sleeping on the floor, however, as I have found that some gases are heavier than others, if you catch my drift.
Of course, I am hoping that Santa delivers ???on some new fish sticks (hint), but with Clark Foam pearling under, there is little room for optimism.
Until then,
Squid

Expect me to make an appearance for sure sometime over the weekend. I may make a day trip of it depending on some other stuff I have got going on. I will be sure to chuck in a couple of surfboards as well as my waveski too in case the swell is on the smaller side so we can goof around.

I can't do the whole wknd...but can definitely come and harass you all with my new ski at least for a day- maybe more depending on my work.
Is there a time during the wknd when we should plan on sitting down and brainstorming about the USWSA?
Can't wait to see a bunch of Goaties in the water agian!

Warren: I'm good at any time. We need a response from Moser, Luhrs, Adams, et al.

I have that Friday off, so I'll either stop by early Friday, or Saturday. By early I mean around 8-9 AM. But I figure we can get a discussion going after a morning surf then later on in the evening.
Been getting any waves from this swell? I got out once in the fog and was the only one out. Easy paddle out, but I gave the impact zone a wide berth, and that was well worth it as some frieght trains did roll in and this was on day when it was past peak! Nice to have big C Street all to yourself!
I hope to get out this Saturday, and possibly again on Sunday or Monday.

I'll definetly be there Friday. Can't miss the BBQ. I've been getting somw great waves. Eric even more so. He got out to an oil derrick with some of the San O' crew for a pounding on some of the big wednesday waves. I got a hold a video shot by Mike so you all will have to site throughsome of that. See the home page for some previews members.aol.com/waveskier2/webpage/westwave.html

One change from previous years: because of the increasing number of participants, AND because we now have a couple of little West HIghland White Terriers (who are a little bit out of control), we're going to do Saturday evening dinner in the rental house instead of our house. As usual, we're doing the food, beer and wine. Anything else you want, you bring it!

;D I decided to book a hotel room at the Crowne Plaza for Fri and Sat Night. This should create a bit more space. If conditions demand it, I'll stay Sunday night as well for some Monday morning peelers at the point.
Great Pics Bill. Impressive levels of committment at the oil rig on Big Wednesday! Eric is an inspiration for my lazy arse.
C-everyone soon.

???What was I thinking?
I decided that any money spent on a hotel room could be put to far better use on food, coffee and surf toys. Besides, I think the real reason for these get togethers is the camraderie. So, clear a spot on the floor for me - I'll bring a sleeping bag and an air mattress. I'll show up Friday night and stay through Monday morning. Snoring and heavy gas be damned, I would rather be in the mix.
I'm looking forward to those 6:30 AM offshore rights at the point with Don "Patrol" Cole. The hot coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and the near-certain harassment on the deck following surfing sessions is not to be missed. Besides, the older I get the better I was!
By the way, everytime I try to post my name as squid, the message board aborts my post, so for now I am "El Squid." How do I fix that?
Cheers,
Jack

I'll definetly be there for the weekend. Have not decided exactly when, probably Sat. am, thru Sun. afternoon. I'll bring lunchmeat and stuff for sandwiches. Vince Shay will most likely make an appearance also.
