Hello USWA yahoo group members! Hope everyone had a great holiday and
enjoyed some good surf.
First I would like to announce that member Don Pellegrini has
designed and created a high quality USWA Logo that can be stuck to
your waveski or anything else you would like to stick it to. Don did
a great job and I would like to thank him for his tireless and
creative effort. Don is offering them for sale at barely his cost and
I will attempt to post a picture of them on here and the give you
info on how you can get one of these nifty stickers for your Waveski.
They do look great and they let everyone know that you're a USWA
supporter and/or member. Order one soon!
Ok, contest news, coming up (3 MONTHS!) on April 28th and 29th will
be our first USWA contest in Cocoa Beach Florida. It is sponsored by
Island WaveSki and from the tales and rumors of the past Waveski
events that Roy, Pam and Tom have promoted; it will be a bang up
event! Expect surf, food, drink, merriment and more! With a heavy
Florida contingency and the surrounding southern states we expect a
very solid turnout for our first event. This being the first
inaugural event for the USWA we recommend everyone come on down and
get a taste of things to come!
Following April the USWA will have a contest in North Carolina in
May. Time and exact date will be announced soon by the contest
promoter. We expect a large attendance for this event with
competitors from the NE states and the southern states attending in
big numbers. The promoter and the USWA will make sure that everyone
has a great time.
Don't forget the first USWA Nationals to be held in Cocoa Beach in
September! Plenty of time to give everyone details on this one.
On to BIG NEWS!
We are happy to announce that there will be a USWA contest in
Southern California in January of 2008. The exact time and place will
be announced by the promoter. Combine great California surf with some
of the best Waveskiers in the country and we have a premier event
testing some of the best Waveskiers in the U.S.! This will be
exciting and big! Because Cal gets the good surf consistently I think
this could become a premier national and world class contest.
Finally and importantly, Warren Schultheis has been working hard on
building a class act website for the USWA. Once this is up and
running we will have a better way to communicate and share news and
media. Another big benefit will be that we will use the Website to
consolidate the membership into one database for future USWA use.
This will give us a solid handle on who and where our members are.
For those with no computers we will also have a way to sign up. After
we get membership rolls accurate and true I can start planning
elections for the regions. Meanwhile there is still much work to be
done and we are getting it done!
Things look good folks and with a little help and support from
everyone it will not be hard to throw great contests, meet new
friends and have a great time!
I will be posting allot more info soon! Stay tuned!
Much regards to all and a HUGE thank you to all those who are helping
making the contest scene happen!
Take care!
